Comprehensive Literacy Assessment Services
ABout our Assessment Services
The TAMU Center for Advanced Literacy Studies has partnered with the TAMU Counseling and Assessment Clinic (CAC) from the Department of Educational Psychology to provide children, adolescents, and adults with comprehensive literacy assessments in English. Assessments focus on all areas of literacy development and provide parents with information about children’s specific areas of strengths and weaknesses. The CAC provides parents with a comprehensive report of the assessment results and their professional opinion regarding any diagnostic considerations. This detailed report provided to families by the CAC can then be shared with the child’s school or with the Clinic for Advanced Literacy Studies at the parent’s request.
Through this partnership with the CAC, our main goal is to best meet the needs of families through providing an extensive literacy profile for the child.
Many parents ask for tutoring options following the educational testing. Following assessment at the CAC, parents can enroll their child in the evidence-based tutoring offered by the Clinic for Advanced Literacy Studies during the fall and spring each year. If you are interested in enrolling your child in one of our programs, please see the Evidence-Based Tutoring tab at the top of the page.
